This is a contract position that is on-site in Ennis, TX, where you’ll work hands-on with automation, robotics, and control systems alongside a team focused on improving plant operations and safety.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Automation & Controls Engineer is responsible for developing, integrating, and implementing automated engineering solutions that support plant operations, quality, processing, and logistics functions. This role manages medium-to-high complexity projects while ensuring the safety of employees and contractors. As the plant’s subject matter expert, the engineer will lead initiatives involving robotics, automation, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, data communication systems (Ethernet & wireless), and vision/inspection programs.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Design, integrate, and implement intermediate to complex automation and control systems to optimize plant processes.
- Lead capital appropriation requests and oversee project execution from concept through completion.
- Serve as the plant’s subject matter expert and primary contact for automation, robotics, and IT-related issues.
- Program Allen Bradley PLCs and develop control logic to meet operational requirements.
- Assemble, install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, and control systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
