OUR PROJECT

The Senior Cloud Architect will support a growing initiative with a global leader in the Defense & Aerospace industry. This project focuses on the development of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-based software solutions that integrate with existing non-cloud systems. The Software Engineer will contribute to mission-critical defense applications, supporting the organization’s cloud technology roadmap through modern microservices architectures, containerized workloads, and DevOps best practices.

This is a long-term contract position requiring full onsite presence in the Melbourne, FL area. Competitive compensation will be provided.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Architect with defense or avionics experience who combines strong backend development skills with modern cloud and microservices expertise. The ideal candidate brings hands-on skills in backend development using Java, C++ or Python and hands on experience building and deploying microservices and containerized workloads. You will have Cloud experience with AWS or GCP, including designing cloud-native solutions and frontend development experience using JavaScript frameworks.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience designing and deploying scalable, containerized microservices, utilizing Java, C++, or Python (OOP) and modern distributed systems patterns.
  • Experience building secure, available cloud environments with Terraform and Kubernetes, including networking, IAM, and production-grade infrastructure.
  • Experience with automated CI/CD, Docker containerization, Kubernetes orchestration ensuring security, compliance, and observability in regulated defense environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust Clearance.
